Maple Valley Farmers Market grand opening Saturday
The second season of the Maple Valley Farmers Market kicks off with celebratory festivities to mark its grand opening 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 19.
The market will be open for business 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from June 19 through Oct. 9 Rock Creek Elementary School 25700 state Route 169
In the summer, on a Saturday Morning, it’s the place to be. MVFM offers only Washington State seasonal farm, sea, and ranch products, including: freshly-picked, tasty, healthy fruits and vegetables; grass-fed beef; wild-caught seafood and shellfish; cheese; eggs; milk; honey; and flowers. Bread, baked goods, prepared foods, and artisans’ handcrafted quality items are also sold. Cooking demos, live music, special events and seasonal celebrations are scheduled throughout the 17-week market season.
From the Covington Reporter about the Farmers Market: “I like the feel of the Farmers’ Market,” she said. “You know that the products are going to be good.” The market seems to embody the entrepreneurial spirit, comprised from local people, Fromel explained. “I’m a local company, I buy from local farms and I want to get my product out locally,” Fromel said.

Cherokee Bay is unique. The prices are good here. It’s different than a plain ole subdivision. There is the lake of course, but also a great park. I suggest you drive through and see if you like it. Here is a link to the community website: You might like it enough to join our happy clients that just purchsed, the Fernandez family.
Here is a portion of a post by a resident: Let me start out by saying I may be a bit biased since I live in Cherokee Bay and am on its Board of Directors. Cherokee Bay Community Club is the name for our neighborhood’s Office and Recreational Facility. It’s one of Maple Valley’s only 100% private neighborhoods. I’m not talking gated – we’re not hoidy toidy. I mean that we own everything. The streets, the water system, etc. We’re basically a small city. click here for the full Cherokee Bay Comment….

Maple Valley has just inherited two of our good customers: The Lunds purchasing in Rainier Vista and The Fernandez family purchasing in Cherokee Bay. Both got excellent deals and the homes are just right for their families. Both families took advantage of the tax credit.

I am exicted to have a long time friend and associate, Terry Rossman join our network of consumer blogs. I have worked with Terry for many years in the mortgage business. I encourage to contact him with all of your mortgage needs, refer people to him, and to return to watch how he builds great content about Maple Valley on this blog. Larry K Cragun, co-founder

Larry is a co author of this blog. Much of his business ends up helping people seeking to live in the Issaquah Bellevue area find the great values in Maple Valley, Kent, Covington, and other south end homes. Truthfully, for the price of a condo in Issaquah or Bellevue you can purcahse a great home in one of these delightful areas. A home or a condo – you decide?
Here is a link to Issaquah Undressed, what you might call the mother blog.

Some thoughts from Colleen Fischessers blog:
Home Sellers with properties priced at or above $700,000 may need to come to terms with the fact it may many many months (even a year or more) to sell their high-end property. I’m basing this on current NWMLS statistics for Single Family homes in the Maple Valley/Covington area.
Currently there are 74 active listings on the market which have an offered price of $700k or more.

I recently came across a P I Article about Elk Run on the P I Sports Den blog: Take a peek at this clip:
A Hacker’s Review: Elk Run Golf Course
This is the first in a series of course reviews for the blog.
A little background information: I am a terrible golfer; I have been playing for over fifteen years and according to the Yahoo’s handicap-tracker, I am a 32.5. That means on a Par 71 course, my average score is a 103.5. Yikes.
As terrible as I am, it’s my favorite thing to do – - besides hanging out with my wife, of course.
On Saturday, I made the trek out to Maple Valley for a round at Elk Run golf course.
As I arrived, I was half-expecting to see the club house at Bandon Dunes (the famous PGA course located in Bandon, OR). If you don’t live in the south sound, it’s not exactly a close drive
I have decided on the following categories to review:……………….
